When were backpacks invented?

Backpacks have come a long way since their invention in 1938 by Gerry Outdoors. Gerry was the first to have a zip and back then backpacks were mainly used for hiking, camping and leisure.

In keeping with the spirit of outdoor adventure, our backpacks are made from natural cork leather, a vegan material derived from the bark of the cork oak tree.

This particular backpack is available in 10 different designs, each with one zip pocket and two inside pockets. The backpacks feature traditional Portuguese mosaic and floral patterns and feature adjustable straps.
